Looking for a Skinceuticals rosacea skin care routine? This is the advice I give my patients on using Skinceuticals products to treat rosacea. These dermatologist-recommended rosacea routines are soothing and calming and can be used with prescription rosacea medications to sooth sensitive skin.
In this blog, I will be sharing essential rosacea skincare routine tips that I've learned across my career as a dermatologist who also has rosacea. Typically, I recommend mixing products from various brands, but if you prefer an all-SkinCeuticals routine for rosacea, I will give you my suggestions for the best routine step order to use the SkinCeuticals products.

Before we dive into the science of rosacea face care, make sure to take our 16 Skin Types Quiz so my advice will be more tailored to you. Once you know which of the 16 skin types you are, you can look for your skin type octagon next to products that are good for your redness-prone skin. Here is our collection of rosacea treatment SkinCeuticals products. If you have taken our quiz, you will see your skin type octagon displayed next to the products that are right for your Baumann Skin Type.
The order in which you apply skincare products matters because they influence the absorption, side effects, and efficacy of each other.

The ideal order of skincare steps in a complete rosacea routine composed of all Skinceuticals products is shown below. You can substitute a prescription medication in step 3, the "rosacea cream" step. I have designed an oily skin and a dry skin routine for you, however, there are other issues you may need to address like dark spots and aging. Take our quiz to get a routine that targets all of your barriers to skin health- not just inflammation.
Dry skin rosacea routines should be designed to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce inflammation with anti-inflammatory ingredients. This is my favorite rosacea skin care routine made with Skinceuticals products for Baumann Skin Type 4: DSNW rosacea prone skin. This is my skin type so I have a lot of personal experience with these products. I personally prefer using the Zerafite Wrinkle Defense Moisturizer as my rosacea moisturizer, but I built the routine below to show you what to do if you want an all SkinCeuticals rosacea routine for dry skin.
Step 1: Skinceuticals Soothing Cleanser
Step 2: Skinceuticals Eye Balm
Step 3: SkinCeuticals Redness Neutralizer
Step 4: SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore
Step 5: SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense
Step 1: Skinceuticals Soothing Cleanser
Step 2: Skinceuticals Eye Balm
Step 3: SkinCeuticals Redness Neutralizer
Step 4: SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore
Step 5: Once skin calms you may be able to add Skinceuticals Retinol.3 here (but use every third night)
Some rosacea skin type have oily skin. These regimens need noncomedogenic products and lighter moisturizers to keep skin from feeling greasy. This is the routine I prescribe for my Baumann Skin Type 8:OSNW patients:
Step 1: Skinceuticals Simply Clean
Step 2: Skinceuticals Eye Balm
Step 3: SkinCeuticals Redness Neutralizer
Step 4: SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3
Step 5: SkinCeuticals Physical Matte UV Defense
Step 1: Skinceuticals Simply Clean
Step 2: Skinceuticals Eye Balm
Step 3: SkinCeuticals Redness Neutralizer
Step 4: SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3
Step 5: Once skin calms you may be able to add Skinceuticals Retinol.3 every third night
Rosacea serums and creams from SkinCeuticals are cosmeceutical products not FDA-approved for rosacea but are often used by dermatologists to treat rosacea. They can be used in conjunction with prescription rosacea medications.
If you combine your prescription medication with SkinCeuticals anti-redness products, use them in Step 3 of your am and pm routine.
Follow these step instructions on how to use your rosacea routine:
By adhering to these SkinCeuticals rosacea routine steps, you can help calm facial redness and reduce rosacea flares effectively. Remember, the key to managing rosacea is consistency and using dermatologist-recommended products that suit your Baumann Skin Type

According to data on Skinceuticals' website, this cream reduced redness by 30% in 12 weeks in research subjects. It has soothing anti-redness ingredients like bisabolol, caffeine and panthenol known to soothe redness. It also has a peptide called Palmitoyl tripeptide-8 that makes skin "feel soothed".
Yes this product has been shown to lower the inflammatory growth factor VEGF in a 12 week study by Skinceuticals (data on file with the company). This antioxidant serum is safe on rosacea-prone skin.
Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Essence Hydrating Mist is one of the few toners that can be safely used in rosacea-prone skin. It has soothing cucumber extract. Keep this in the refrigerator to use when your skin is uncomfortable and you need a soothing cool spray mist for your face.
I have not seen this serum actually reduce redness on it's own in my patients but it make the skin feel better and is a wonderful soothing serum. To relieve facial redness, it needs to be part of a consistent and correct custom rosacea routine. Keep it in the refrigerator so it feels cool on your skin.
If you have rosacea, you should first get on a soothing and calming skin care routine and let your skin calm down before starting any type of retinol. The Skinceuticals Retinol 0.3% is the weakest one and the least likely to upset your skin, but this is still a strong enough retinol to be irritating. I suggest choosing a more gentle one. If you choose to use this SkinCeuticals retinol and you have rosacea, wait until your skin has completed 4 weeks on a calming skin care routine. Then add retinol on top of your moisturizer every third night. Follow these instructions on how to slowly increase retinol to minimize side effects.
