Ethylhexyl Palmitate
Ethylhexyl Palmitate is a synthetic ester derived from isopropyl alcohol and palmitic acid, commonly used as an emollient in cosmetics. It provides a smooth, non-greasy texture and enhances the spreadability of products like lotions and creams. Often used as a lightweight alternative to silicone, it softens and hydrates the skin. While generally non-comedogenic, it may cause breakouts for very acne-prone skin types. It can increase the penetration of other skin care ingredients in the skin care routine.
Glycerin (Glycerol) is the best natural moisturizing ingredient to hydrate skin quickly. May give products a sticky feel.
Phenoxyethanol is a preservative used in skincare to prevent microbial growth. It’s generally safe in concentrations up to 1% in leave-on products and poses minimal irritation risk in rinse-off products like cleansers. With no cross-reactivity to parabens, paraben-allergic individuals can use it safely. Sensitive skin types should use it with caution as it may cause an irritation response, though allergic reactions are uncommon.
