Sodium hypochlorite is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial ingredient that generates hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which kills microorganisms by oxidizing proteins, lipids, and other essential cell components. It has antibacterial and antifungal activity, including activity against acne-causing Cutibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, and Malassezia, the yeast associated with fungal acne. In dilute skincare formulations, it can be useful for acne, fungal acne, eczema-prone skin, and skin at risk of infection by reducing microbial buildup and inflammation. Sodium hypochlorite can be irritating at higher concentrations, but properly diluted skincare formulations are generally well tolerated, and allergic reactions are uncommon.

Yes. CLn Acne Cleanser is a great choice for oily, sensitive skin with acne or rosacea, especially when clogged pores and inflammation are concerns. However, it is not the best choice if your skin is stinging, burning, peeling, or very irritated because the salicylic acid may increase irritation. In that case, a creamy, barrier-safe cleanser followed by CLn Hypochlorous Spray is a better choice.
CLn Acne Cleanser contains 0.5% salicylic acid, an oil-soluble exfoliating ingredient that penetrates into oily, sebum-filled pores. It helps remove excess sebum and dead skin cells that contribute to clogged pores and acne. The combination of salicylic acid and antimicrobial sodium hypochlorite makes it especially useful for oily, acne-prone skin.

Yes, but pay attention to dryness and irritation. Salicylic acid and retinoids can both contribute to dryness, peeling, and stinging. Oily skin types may tolerate this combination well, but if your skin becomes irritated, switch to a gentler cleanser until the skin barrier recovers.
Usually not. CLn Acne Cleanser is already a cleanser and can be used as your cleansing step, so you do not automatically need to wash with another cleanser first. If you wear heavy makeup or water-resistant sunscreen, you may need a separate makeup-removal step.
