Glytone

Glytone

Glytone is a brand that formed an entire product line based off of one essential ingredient. Free glycolic acid. Created decades ago by two pharmacists and a dermatologist, the Glytone Skin Care line was born. The humble beginnings of this dermatologist recognized brand started with the founders formulating and creating their own topical Glytone Skin Care products, each infused with the innovative ingredient glycolic acid. From there, Glytone grew into an internationally respected skincare brand that is recognized by both consumers and physicians alike. At its start in 1943, Glytone Skin Care was less of a brand a more like an experiment in skincare. While the team behind Glytone Skin Care was confident in the benefits of using free glycolic acid in skincare, the skincare industry was still catching up. As dermatology advanced, the benefits and effects of glycolic acid couldn’t be denied and by the mid 80’s more and more products containing glycolic acid were introduced to the market. It was during this time that Glytone Skin Care worked to differentiate themselves from the growing market. While many brands were creating skincare products that contained neutralized glycolic acid, Glytone aimed to create products infused with free glycolic acid instead.
