Hi everyone!
Drs Welsh, Montiero and Sachev have all turned in their first blog and I am teaching them how to sign in. I now know how to sign in and how to talk in the forums under “Dr Baumann” instead of admin. Yea! Once I get all the other docs blogging I will have time to begin to do some good blogs here for you. Please comment here and tell me what topics to cover.
Just want to share a thought on sunscreen for you. I HATE the new Neutrogena SPF 70. Have you tried it? It gets all white and flaky. Yuck. Use the lower SPF Neutrogena products to avoid this messy flaking. If you have Vichy in your area (north east in CVS) then they have a really great sunscreen. La Roche Posay has nice ones too as well as Aveeno. Don’t forget to take Heliocare supplements (CVS and Walgreens- ask the pharmacist) when you are outdoors for over an hour They help prevent sun damage. Enjoy the summer! You should be getting your stretch marks newsletters this week if you have not received them already.
Have a great week!

Hi Everyone. I have had some feedback that the new Skin problem sections in the forum are confusing. Should I delete the and only have the skin type sections? I did this because we now have many visitors who do not know their skin type (Shame on you!) and I wanted them to be able to benefit from the type. If you know your skin type please use that section for your comments. If you do not know your type- use the skin problem section and please buy the book so you can learn your type. Please comment to this blog and tell me your thoughts.

Hi Everyone,
We had quite crazy few weeks. The traffic on the site exceeded our server’s ability so we had to upgrade to a bigger server. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please tell me how you like the new problem oriented section of the forum. We have been taking many of your suggestions. The traffic on the site is way up so please welcome the new visitors. I will be doing my best to add more and more features to the site. You should have received your latest newsletter on lasers if you have a newsletter subscription. If you do not have a subscription, consider signing up. The next one is on stretch marks!
Please send me comments in this blog section and let me know ideas you have for the site. I want to try and reach as many of your needs as I can.
Have a great Mother’s Day! See www.SkinGuru.com for gift ideas!

Your forum username and password will not allow you to create blog comments. You need to sign up separately at the blog registration. You can use the same username and password if you like, but you need to sign up again to make comments.
I appreciate all of your patience during the updates. Roger and I are doing our best to improve the site.

I just heard about this line- developed by a dermatologist. It is lacking the 25- 27 most common skin allergens. I do not know much about it. I am just learning. Go to general discussions under skin allergies and tell me if you have used this or heard of it and what you think. I think it is an amazing idea.

It is a big week for me. The second edition of cosmetic dermatology is finished. The Australian Yahoo Health blog is now online at
http://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/health/index.html?page=2.
It has the same content as www.SkinGuru.com but will be on the Australian Yahoos home page. Brazil Yahoo is coming soon. I am looking to hire a Portuguese/ English speaker to translate the skin guru blogs to Portuguese. Please email me at DRB@drbaumann.com if you are interested.
My husband figured out that Vista was causing a bug on my blog and I can now blog again here. yea! I am working on setting up new features for the site. Please go to about the blog and tell me what you want to see in future blogs, newsletters and features on the site. I will have acne and rosacea sections under general discussion coming soon as you requested. I have time to focus on STS (this site) now so tell me what you want! Have a great day!

HI Everyone. I just sent out a newsletter on diet that I feel is GREAT! It took a ton of work to put together. I hope you enjoy it. Between the supplements newsletter and the diet newsletter you should all have great skin from within!
I have a few things to let you know:
1. Thank you to the person who emailed me to tell me about Dr. Baumann cosmetics. That IS NOT me! In fact, the person using that name is violating my trademark and he is not even a doctor. He is a German chemist I believe who opened an office on Miami Beach to look like it was me. (his “office” is a small apartment in a residential area). Please boycott his products- which I feel are not well made anyway. How frustrating! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. He is now doing “training courses” for aestheticians- so beware- this is not me. Anything I do will use my complete name Leslie Baumann so you will know the difference.
2. I was promoted at work! I am now in charge of a big University of Miami Cosmetic Group composed of 5 different aesthetic physicians (facial plastic surgery, oculoplastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology). This greatly enhances our ability to do research. I will keep you posted.
3. In regards to the patient that the Private Citizen group claimed died from cosmetic Botox injections (see previous blog). It has been uncovered that the person died of an unrelated pneumonia 7 weeks after Botox injections. It is the children that have cerebral palsy and other serious medical conditions that had complications with Botox. I still feel it is very safe when used in low doses for cosmetic use. Feel free to discuss in the forums.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I will be blogging more now that my travelling will sow down. (Part of my new commitment is to be in Miami more to be the administrator of this new initiative). I hope you are enjoying www.skinguru.com
