everday minerals mineral foundation! combo skin.

  2. Rachael Says:

I use a liquid foundation by Physicans Formula. It is talc-free mineral foundation. It says it is hypoallergenic, fragrance free, oil free, non-comedogenic, dermatologist approved.

    I am a O/D,S,P,W.

I love this foundation, it is the only one I can use that does not break me out.

  3. Charee Says:

I am a DSPW and at the moment I use CoverGirl Clean Makeup because it has good coverage for all of my issues. BUT I just read the book and have not begun experimenting so I don’t know yet if it’s part of the problem. I can say it doesn’t SEEM to break me out or dry me out but I am not sure because have been torturing my skin with all the wrong products.

I was an OSNW, but have moved to DSNW now that my estrogen levels have fallen with age. Laura Mercier Liquid Foundations and her Silk Creme Foundation have been most compatible and wearable for my skin type (s ). I purchase the foundations that are free of Spf because octyl methoxycinnamate and it’s sister octinoxate irritate my skin considerably.
I wish that cosmetic manufacturers would stop using these chemicals!!
I like that the Mercier website lists ingredients for all her products. Very helpful and so appreciated.

I do not like octyl methoxycinnamate either. I get a rash too. It is called OMC in the cosmetic world and I always think o fit as OMG- as in… oh my god it has octyl methoxycinnamate. Thanks for these great suggestions!

    I’m a DSPW living in a high-desert environment (Utah).
This fall I started using Chantecaille Just Skin and I love it!

  7. Monica Says:

I’m ORPT and the best foundation i have used to date is Revlons Colorstay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for combination/Oily skin.

Please tell me more. I am putting together a blog on this. My research team will try all your suggestions!

  9. Christine Says:

I like that one: OMG it has octylmethoxycinnamate in it! I have the same response. I have even tried these OMC containing foundations with serum under them and still get stung!
I would prefer to use my own sunscreen, so wish cosmetic companies would stop adding it to their formulas, especially since it gives the false impression of adequate protection.
The only sunscreen containing foundation I have used is Clinique Almost Makeup which has an spf of 15 and contains a physical blocker. It has worked for me on the ski slopes, though I am reluctant to continue using this without an additional sunscreen on my face. Amazingly, I skied for several hours using only the Almost Makeup and did not get a burn. What if they increased the amount of spf?
Pre-STS, I used Bobbi Brown foundations with Spf 15 and OMC and could never understand why my face burned and turned red.

I used Clinique Stay for years. After reading your book (I am a DSNW) I changed to Neutrogena Visibly Even, their color Blushing Ivory matches my skin and covers red spots. A little dryer skin this winter in MA, so I changed to Revlon Age Defying, color Fresh Ivory. It seems more moisturizing than the Neutrogena. The Ivory in Neutorgena is perfect for me, but the Ivory in the Revlon is close. I’m over 60 and can be found in the cosmetics aisles at CVS with the tweenies.

I have been using Physician’s Formula talc free pressed mineral powder for several years. Even though I am a DSNT(26,34,16,37),this does not look like most powders do..it provides coverage, but doesn’t look cakey..I am slightly dry,so maybe that’s why.

  12. Dr. Leslie Baumann Says:

I agree wiht Christine 100%. Better to use a sunscreen and a separate foundation. You have to put on 7 times the amount of foundation to get the labelled spf so if you have a sensitvity to sunscreen then its easier to find a foundation without sunscreen.
How about recs for foundations that do not break you out?

  13. georgia Says:

I’m a DSNT (very dry). The foundation I like is Revlon Age Defying Makeup, Dry Skin formula. I find it more moisturizing than Lancome ’s Renergie Lift Makeup, which I used to use.
