Organic skin care and animal testing
I am looking for a good organic skin care line that does not do animal testing. I cannot find any good effective ones. Do any of you have suggestions?

Ecco Bella natural and organic skin care line contains plenty of nice anti-oxidant ingredients and claims no animal testing.
I am ORNW type, slightly drier in the winter. Using their night rebuilder as moisturizer now, seems nice. But it does not contain any preservatives, which is a little strange.
Night Rebuilder
Ingredients: Organic aloe barbenisis, organic sunflower oilhelianthus anuus, caprylic/capric triglycerides, organic jojoba oil, saccharide isomerate (water binding agent from sugar), organic coconut oil, glyceryl stearate, glycerine, VitaminCells: Soy lecithin liposomes with full-spectrum vit. E with soy tocopherols & tocotrienols, vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), astaxanthin,beta-carotene, lutein, lycopene, zeaxanthin, CoQ10; ceramide 3, organic extracts of gotu cola centella asiatica, calendula officinalis, matricaria chamomomilla, arnica montana, horsetail equisetum arvense; hyaluronic acid, xanthan gum, essential oils of lavender lavandula angustifolia, rosemary leaf rosmarinus officinalis, geranium pelargonium graveolens. I would like to make a request for a future blog: I would love to see a list of some common products/actives that should not be used together or with restrictions (never use in the same routine….or only use 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening…..or only use on alternating days) I have read warnings about AHAs/BHAs with retinol products…..Vit C and copper peptides….etc. Thank you…
PS…I am posting this request to all of the dermatologists

Take a look at the Kiss My Face line as they are organic and use no animal testing. http://www.kissmyface.com
I have tried the aloe and olive bar soap, and my face and body seem to really like it. I found them this past spring so I don’t know how I will like the product during the winter months.
I also like J.R. Liggett’s Shampoo Bar for a facial and body soap/cleanser. http://www.jrliggett.com
I like the J.R. Liggett a little better than the Kiss My Face because I like the smell. For those who are scent sensitive, that might be a problem because of the essential oils in the product.

I’ve been using Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap, for their castile soap, shikakai hand soap, the lotion, the shikakai and lemon mix they make for hair if you use the castille soap as shampoo.
All their products are certified organic, most of the ingredients are fair trade, none of them are tested on animals. The company is based in Escondido, California.
They make castile bar soaps which are pricey, about 3-4 dollars a bar. The castile soaps are cheaper, 13 dollars for 32oz. The company will ship anywhere. They have many different versions of the castile soap with different essential oils, and they aren’t stingy with the essential oils either. The smells are lovely but I can’t hack them and have been using a baby/mild version of their stuff with no essential oils.

Dear Baumann, I ´d like to contribute in this topic. Alternative testing such as “in vitro” or test-tube methodos are not effective as we do know that the corneun stratum is a barrier to be passed and we can not mimetize this “in vitro”. The alternative is use Humans volunteers to test new molecules, new cosmetics, new drugs…
…who wants to test them?
Best wishes from Brazil!

I love Dr. Andrew Weil’s line of mushroom based skin products. My dry skin has not been dry in over a year!

I love them too. Are they considered organic? I think they are just “natural”. I can’t find a good true organic line
