Dr Welsh, what can you say about AFil Cream (chemical and physical SB)? Is this sufficient enough for my face, and, how often should I reapply during the day? Been using vanicream spf 60, a physical sunblock but I have a feeling it is not protecting me well. I am using glycolic 20% cleanser plus tret 0.05% 30 min after cleanser at night. I have lots of melasma on one side of my face and nothing seemed to work. Been using tret for the past 2 months. I appreciate your thoughts...... Thank you.

Natural lipids (oils on the skin) protect its integrity. When this integrity is lost the skin tends to break easier. Imagine lipids as a natural skin protectant that shields us from the exterior environment....If you pay attention, people with oily skin, tend to have less wrinkles than people with drier skin. Hope this explains...

Hi Dr. Walsh, I was just wondering why drying out your skin makes it more likely to wrinkle. Could you explain this please?
