I, personally, don't find it confusing either way, but understand what you are wanting to achieve with only the sixteen skin type categories. I really do like Josh's suggestion of adding the extra category for Skintype Unknown.

I think it is easy enough then to title one's subject as Acne or Sunscreen or Sunspots etc. under one's skintype or skintype one borders.

Hi Dr B
Is there somewhere I can send you recommendations for products that don't appear in your book. I am in Australia and there are a few Australian made products that I have had some success with in the apst.
cheers

I personally think maybe there are too many extra forums. If you notice there are usually concerns about key issues like rosacea and acne, but not about feet and breasts (just as an example)
Maybe just leave the ones that seem fairly active and condense the others into "misc. skin issues". I like Josh's idea about the "Don't know your skintype" or you could just call it "Newbies post here" or something.

Dr. B,

I think it's very confusing for not just new people but some of the more seasoned posters in the forum. There have been many occasions where people have posted into multiple sections and that actually dilutes the value of the forum.

A much simpler way of achieving what you're talking about above would be to just have a section "Don't know your skin type? Ask your questions here." and leave the boards as they were with a general forum and the skin type forums.

As a side note, people don't always read this blog as often as they do the forums, so this post may not generate the interest and comment it would have if you'd posted it in the forums. You've also got the issue of new people who may not see this post (particularly over time as it moves off the first blog page). These people won't know what you intended (assuming you leave the forums as they are now) so there will still be the potential for confusion.

I love the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch except for the SPF 70 one. It flakes and looks like your skin is peeling. However, has great sun protection. I liked the spf 45 one (I think it was 45) they had before the 70 much better.

Congrats on the move to the new server.
Don't know if everyone is having this problem, but I can't get the forum to load on my computer.

Hello Dr. Baumann,
I have just read your book. Wow. Lots of good information. I don't know whether you comment about specific products but I was wondering what you think about the product by Neutrogena called Ultra Sheer SPF 55? Do you think this is a good product for faces?
Also, do you know anything about the line Physiodermie? Thanks for sharing all your expertise.
